Alex Arnall attended the Royal Geographical Society Annual Conference in Cardiff in August 2018.

He presented the latest research from the project in a session that explored the visual images of seascapes. Alex’s presentation examined how managers of luxury tourist destinations seek to promote the aesthetic qualities of their coastal environments, through the use of visual images, but also the complex historical and political processes often surrounding the generation and use of such images themselves.

The conference, which takes place annually, is one of the largest gatherings of geographers in the UK. The event welcomed over 1,700 delegates from over 50 countries, with over 370 sessions taking place over three days.
